Prosperity with a purpose

Prosperity 'without' purpose.  So the earth was watered by God from beneath and from above.  Man drifted away from God after the fall in the garden.  They started working with their own hands and tilling the ground.  Man forgot his purpose.

They forgot God their creator and began to live in sin.  Their hearts became evil and sin became so rampant that God repented that He had made man.  “The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.”

This is the case with so many people who come into prosperity and have no direction or purpose in their lives.  Money is empty without a purpose.  No matter how many things you buy and no matter how much money you get…it is never enough.  As mentioned in a previous blog - “More than one third of lottery winners declare bankruptcy within 5 yrs.”

Many of the rich and famous people and celebrities die everyday of suicide and addictions because they find that eventually there is nothing else to buy…things don’t satisfy that emptiness from separation from God.  Their lives have no purpose - money, things, the praise of men…all empty.

“Prosperity with a purpose” from a relationship with the Lord is in stark contrast.  Proverbs 10:22 says the blessing of the Lord makes a man rich and He adds no sorrow to it.
